ROYAL NATIONAL PARK AND SYDNEY

4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS

EX SYDNEY

  • Trek: Coastal Track to Wedding Rock Return 12 - 13 km Elevation 266 m

Our trip departs from Sydney airport at 9:30am. From there we travel one hour south to the small seaside town, Bundeena.

This the most northern section of the Coastal track in the Royal National Park. With Sydney's CBD on the horizon we set of on this circuit track to Wedding Cake Rock. There are some sections that are quite overgrown due to GirlsTrek taking you on the lesser tred "old coastal" track and long pants and long sleeved shirts are recommended. The effort of brushing up against a few coastal heath plants are certainly worth it as we emerge on to rock shelves with stunning coastal view. The track is rough in places and there are a couple of short steep ascents and descents.

From the walk end we depart to Helensburgh, a sleepy little town for our accommodation for the next two nights.

Helensburgh is as quaint as it is surprising. With its location only one hour from Sydney the food culture is alive and kicking in this otherwise low key village. We stay in a heritage pub with a single room allocated to each person. The bathrooms and toilets are down the hall. It's a great little place to stay with the rooms fully renovated in recent years.

To night we dine at a local restaurant.

    Meals: Lunch and dinner

  • Trek: Figure of Eight Pools 10 km Elevation 700m

The natural formation (and wonder) of the Figure of Eight pools requires a low tide. We will have access to the rock shelf approximately one hour before a low tide. To ensure this we need to make decisions close to the time of the trip on what part of the trek will be done first. If the weather is windy and oceans rough we will not be able to continue the full way along the rockshelf however this does not detract from the walk.

From Garawarra Carpark we enjoy a circuit walk that includes beautiful forest and spectacular ocean scenery. The first part of the walk is all down hill - leaving the return to be all uphill! However we take our time and enjoy the views!

In the afternoon we travel south over the famous Sea Cliff Bridge and on to Clifton or Austimer for a beach swim in these sweet seaside towns before travelling back to Helensburgh.

For our second night we will dine at another local restaurant serving decadent modern cuisine in a unique setting with award winning chef, Daniel Fountain. The cuisine is inspired by the natural surrounds with native ingredients featuring on the menu.

    Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

  • Trek: Coogee Beach to Bondi Beach 7 km

We depart Helensburgh and make our way to Coogee Beach for a beachside breakfast.

After admiring the talented surfers and downing a great flat white we begin our walk from her to Bondi Beach. This is a gorgeous stretch of the Sydney coastline visiting Clovelly and Bronte beach enroute to the famous Bondi.

Arriving in Bondi we provide you with a free afternoon with tips to explore either the local beachside shops or Bondi Junction. Your preference may be to grab you book and enjoy some down time our luxury hotel or wander further along the coastline to Dover Heights and Vaucluse.

Tonight we have arrange for a fabulous celebration dinner where you can dress up and feel the city beat!
