  • The High Atlas Mountains is home to the Berber people. On this trek we move through their villages unchanged for centuries making our way to the highest Peak in North Africa, Mount Toubkal.

    Stay on for the optional 5 days at the end of the trek and enjoy a luxury Sahara desert camp and culinary experiences including a cooking class with traditional dishes and time in the cultural capital of Morocco, the city of Fes.

  • Arrive Casablanca and private transfer to your hotel. With time permitting we visit the Hassan II Mosque and dine tonight at the famous Rick’s Cafe.

  • Travel to Marrakech by private transfer and after a late lunch we have free time to explore the city. Dinner tonight is at a local restaurant near the Jemaa el Fnaa.

  • This morning we have a guide tour of the Medina and after travel to La Ville Nouvelle for lunch at the Amal Foundation - a local womens co operative that teaches cooking to skills to disadvantaged women.

  • Trek: Imlil to Fousarou 5 hours

    This morning we depart after breakfast to drive to the village of Imlil in the Atlas mountains to commence our trek.

    We trek to Fousarou via the Tizi Tamaterte (2279 m). Overnight camping.

  • Trek: Fousarou to Azib Likemete 7 hours

    We trek today from Fousaru via Tizi Likmete (3900m) and finish at Tizi Likemete (2500m). Lunch will be prepared for us along the way.

  • Trek: Azib Likemete via Tizi n’nuorai (3109 m) to Amouzarte Village (1750 m) 5.5 hours

    Today we are crossing a pass at Tizi n’ourai before descending to the small Amsouzarte village for our overnight

  • Trek: Amsouzarte to Lake Ifni (2300 m) 5 hours

    We continue today on our trek to visiting a number of berber villages. Life here high in the mountains has remained unchanged for hundreds of years. Tonight we camp close to the lake.

  • Trek: Lake Ifni to Toubkal Base Camp (3200 m) 6 hours

    Today we make our way toward Toubkal base camp so we are in position for our summit to the highest peak in North Africa.

  • Trek: Toubkal Summit (4167 m)

    It is a long and steady climb to the summit of Mt Toubkal. We will leave early and take our time to reach he top. We descend only to the base camp for the evening

  • Trek: Base camp to Imlil (4 hours)

    Finishing our circuit trek in the High Atlas mountains we return to Imlil. We now say goodbye to our trek crew and continue on to Marrakech by road. Tonight we have a celebration dinner for our well deserved achievements!

  • For those departing after the 11 days a private transfer is arranged for you to return to the airport.

    Those continuing on the extension we drive to Dades Gorge for the night. This is one of a number of stunning gorges that run between the High Atlas and Anti-Atlas ranges

  • We first visit Rissani, famous for it’s local spice market before continuing to Merzouga on the edge of the Sahara Desert. We meet camels as our transport for a one hour transfer to our desert camp for the night.

  • We have a leisurely start to the morning before transfering back to our transport in Merzouga. This area is well known for fossils and we visit a fossil museum before continuing to drive north to Fes.

  • Our drive continues toward Fes from Midelt. On the way we stop in forests to see barbary apes - a species native to this area. We have a number of other cultural experiences and enjoy a home cooked Moroccan feast tonight.

  • This morning we participate in a cooking class learning traditional dishes and the afternoon is free to explore.

  • We drive north of Fes toward Rabat stopping in Idriss region and Roman ruins of Volubilis.

    After we visit a winery for tastings and lunch.

    Arriving in Rabat we have our final dinner together.

  • It is a 1.5 hour transfer from Rabat to Casablanca airport for your onward journey.
