Trek: Mt Wellington 6-8 km
Arriving, trek ready, on an early flight into Hobart, GirlsTrek will collect you from the airport in a private vehicle. Our first trek is up Kunyani and the dolerite cliffs that form the "Organ Pipes". There are spectacular views from this slice of wilderness so close to Tasmania's capital city.
After our stunning trek we enjoy lunch together and then continue to Curringa farm, our accommodation for the next three nights. Curringa Farm is owned and ran by Tim and Jane Parsons, they are 7th Generation farmers who are passionate about sustainable agriculture and the family business. This little slice of heaven will be your 'home away from home' as we explore this magnificent region.
Our accommodation is in comfortable studio or 2 bedroom farm cottages, dotted around the hill areas of the farm. They are very comfortable and well appointed with everything we need for our stay.
Dinner tonight is BBQ in the main barn house.

Trek: The Tarn Circuit, Mt Field 16 km (7 hours)
We depart early to make our way to Mt Field National Park. Depending on the weather for the day, we may need to change day 2 and day 3 walks around.
After breakfast we set off for a day in the high country. Rated one of Tasmania's best days walks you will be inspired, trekking along this national park trail as it makes it way between tarns and alpine vegetation. The weather can be changeable and it is necessary to carry with you a good layering system - just in case.
There are some challenging sections on the trail and some hills where we will take it a little slower. Our morning tea and lunch stops are in the historic ski huts, which look out to breath taking views!
Once we have completed the Tarn Circuit we will return back to a lower section of the National Park and a stop at the local Berry Farm.
With our long trekking day done we return to Curringa Farm to our cosy cottages and a casual nourishing dinner.

Trek 12 - 14 km Mt Field National and jam making
After breakfast in our cottage we travel by private vehicle to Mt Field National Park to continue exploring the extensive trails of the National Park, with it's many water falls and beautiful scenery. We enjoy morning tea on the trail before returning to Curringa farm for an afternoon of jam making and a late lunch of scones and fruit beside the lake.
Late afternoon we take a visit to the near by Lawrenny Estate Distilling for some gin tastings. Lawrenny Estate Distillery has been established as one of only a very few 'paddock to bottle' Estate single malt whiskies in the world. The barley grains are grown and harvested from the Lawrenny fields then mashed, fermented and distilled using the pure waters that flow through the Estate. Their gift boxes make a great souvenir to take home.
Tonight you will enjoy a degustation create by local farmer, chef and neighbour Will. This dinner is a real treat and showcase to local produce.

This morning we are treated to a sleep in and later breakfast, while we pack and ready ourselves to depart our cottages. Tim is on hand for a sheep yard demonstration and a visit to the Highland cows.
Sadly, we then must say goodbye to Jane and Tim and continue our travels on to the quaint historic town of Richmond. We give you time to explore the little shops and heritage buildings before we head to the airport and our onward flights home.
If you would like to extend your stay in Hobart, it is an easy 20 minute bus ride into the City.
